Lilly has launched a color differentiation packaging system for its Humalog (insulin lispro [rDNA origin]) injection and Humulin (regular insulin human [rDNA origin] injection) products. This color coded, redesigned labeling will allow patients and health care providers to accurately identify the insulin products being prescribed.

Humalog KwikPen will be the first device to be packaged in accordance with this coloring system. Other Humalog and Humulin products will be introduced with the new coloring system throughout 2008.
